June was hot and dry. July was cold and rainy. But today it was warm and sunny again so there were quite a lot of people in Lomtjärn park when I visited the willow tree. Both children and adults seem to enjoy feeding the wigeons by throwing bread pieces. Now at the end of high summer the willow tree is at its most magnificent stage.

Yes, spectacular crown! The photo of the little girl feeding the ducks is wonderful … nice reminder of when we were that age. We would save bread scraps through the week, and then go to the park on Sunday.
Magnificent indeed – and a lovely setting next to the lake.
In some pictures the tree looks a bit like a giant calabrese (broccoli)!
Thank you so much for sharing your refreshing images 🙂
You’re right. The tree does look like a giant broccoli head.
Far more so than the actual broccoli I’m trying to grow this year which instead just grows huge and insists on flowering, just producing a few very loose and tiny side shoot broccoli ”heads” instead of a proper big and solid broccoli head.
What a beautiful tree!
