I’m thinking of choosing this tree to follow during 2020. It’s growing very nicely next to a pond in the Lomtjärn park in Älvsbyn. During summer ducks, mostly Eurasian wigeons, raise their cute little ducklings in the pond. Don’t know what species the tree is. It doesn’t seem to be a native species.

What a wonderful tree! I love the multi-stem shape and the golden colour.
I so look forward to seeing this – and more of the park – throughout 2020.
Thanks for joining us again.
All the best 🙂
Is the orange color due just to sunlight, or is it also young growth? If the latter, it reminds me of some of our willows (Salix)
Salix is a good guess. My best guess at the moment is a garden variety of Salix fragilis called Bullata that is known for the round shape of it’s crown. But the crown is typically shaped like a perfect round ball sitting on top of a single stem, and this tree doesn’t quite look like that.
The sunlight on the tree looks beautiful, and it has a nice round compact shape. Frances
